And another one joins the darkside...

Agree totally with the above, sort out your radiator problems etc. and use what's left to sort out some rims - and from there you can sort out a decent front brake upgrade! Ane then HIDs, and then rears, and then samcos, and then a remap, and then an rs2 setup, and then another remap, and then...... :mischeif:

RH wheels make replicas of them, dunno which dealers sell them in the uk, try searching ebay for that.

          Suspension, brakes, power and looks.

If done in that order they will compliment each over perfectly.

This version is virtually red through out. They look good, but will be illegal in the UK, because the indicators have no orange reflective material inside and will flash red!!!

The septic rear lights look ok but on a green car I think they would look wrong. Has anybody tried building some rears from scratch? I'm thinking LEDs.

                  Hi,

Wrong stud pattern. You need 5 x 112 and preferably an ET 35

                  Tyre size was spot though!

                  Cheers,

                  Steve.

17s or 18s? That is the question! Will 17s allow for big brakes?

Big brakes fit under 16"'s, Bigger brakes under 17"'s and even bigger under 18"'s

Right, do I need bigger rims if I want bigger brakes? What fits behind the original rims? What fits behind 17" Cup 3s? I'm guessing anything will fit behind 18s?

I am running on AP 315mm grooved discs (28mm wide) on bremsport 4 pots and the stopping power is scary, i couldnt imagine what some of the bigger brake upgrades would do, for example Lees brake conversion. But i too like the standard look, with maybe a subtle increase to the 17" or 18" Standard alloys as they look the dogs danglies in my opinion, still the same style Avus 6 spoke but bigger. Then put the pennies aside and save up for the full RS2 conversion (Including Clutch), you must be over half way to it financially. The wheels will enhance its looks and add a small amount of value to the car, where as engine mods rarely add value, but if you plan to keep the car then engine mods are the way to go. Tuned up RS2 set up will demolish most things on the road with ease, you would be well in super car territory with these upgrades.

A lot of this is covered in www.s2central.net , however I admit we moderators/admins need to improve the FAQ on this stuff. Seems a shame to have all these questions asked time and again !

Right then... as you know I have £1500 to spend on the S2.

                                Rad - £110.
All the bushes, the top mounts and the indicators - £300
Samco Boost hoses and coolent hoses - £385 all in + P&P
                                A re-map by MRC - £500
A full service and some randon bits should take care of the rest of the cash.

Thanks to all for the advice. I will try to take some pics while I do the work. I will post them here as and when I get round to all the jobs. My missus aint going to be happy...
